To the victor goes the spoils

To the editor:

I see the Republicans just can't see their way clear to accept the fact that they won the election. Perhaps it's the old saying, "to the victor goes the spoils" that seems to be what's bothering them.

If that's the case, then they can take this thieving, lying poor excuse of a man off of our hands and claim him all to their very own. After all, they did give him to us in the first place. Did they not? Well, that being the case then the next logical step in this slow-motion nightmare would be to blame each and every one of you for the confusion he in inflicting on our great nation and let's not forget the chaos over seas.

Time and time again you see the Republicans crying "what a mess Obama left our country in," or maybe it's all Hillary's fault. And of course they just can't figure out why the Democrats are being such obstructionists.

Oh, what a short memory they have. How mean of those big bad bullies. Let me be the first one to light them up. It's the economy, stupid. Where were the jobs and the job growth numbers eight years ago? Where was the stock market eight years go? How many times a day did you hear the gut retching term "Too big to fail?" How many of our finest and best have been killed because of your needless war? Why did the GDP tank eight years ago?

I'm sure all my GOP friends know the answers to these questions, the problem is they just can't bring themselves to accept the fact that it is their bedrock belief that the old fairy tale of theirs "the trickle down economics "just doesn't work, never has and never will.

The problem they've got now that they've won the election is it's time for them to actually get something done. Remember all of the blah-blah-blah they gave us during the campaign season? The first one that comes to mind is "We will repeal and replace Obamacare on day one." How did that work out for ya?

Well, folks, it's time for them to put up or shut up. A very difficult task for them. Case in point: they've had eight years to put a real bill together to repeal and replace Obamacare. Now with the House, Senate and Presidency under their control, what did they have ready to go? Nothing, nada. The only thing they could come up with would be their standard line; it's all Obama's fault. It is becoming more and more obvious as the days tick by that they are totally incapable of governing this great nation of ours, let alone govern themselves. There is one piece to this puzzle that we all assume is a part of the discussion. That would be the fact that all parties are playing by the rules. Take a look at the first three letters of the key word here, assume. I am in full throated agreement that the Republicans are in fact not playing by the rules. Don't believe me? OK then explain why the Dems are locked out of the back room where the Republicans are writing the new health care bill, which they intend to put to a vote without anyone having the time to even read it, that would include the CBO. Oh, by the by, they say they're going to get all this done in a week and a half. Remember last time it took them over eight years.

Now the knockout punch for all of us, add Trump to this list of losers and you have an absolute, plausible recipe for complete disaster to each and every household in our country. Oh, I forgot to point out, the fact that any household in the top 2 percent will not be having any of this kind of talk. Why you ask? Well that's because they will be spending the day on their brand new yacht which they were able to purchase with the money Trump handed to them because of his new tax cut plan for the wealthy.
