The Suzuki and Toyota were traveling westbound on Lee. The Suzuki was in the center lane ahead of the Toyota, which was traveling in the inside lane.

The right front side of the Infinity collided with the left rear of the Nissan. After the collision, the Infinity traveled over the raised median. The right front side of the Infinity then struck the left front side of the Suzuki. The Infinity overturned onto its roof coming to rest within the north shoulder.

The Toyota then struck the debris field caused from the collision.

Officials reported that Torrens was injured and transported to Lee Memorial Hospital and Frebel was pronounced dead on scene. Vazquez, along with two passengers, Randy Vazquez, 19, and Jelinda Figueroa, 19, and Innarelli were not injured

The investigation determined Torrens to be under the influence of alcohol and that his actions of exceeding the posted speed limit contributed to the crash, which resulted in the death of Frebel and damage to three vehicles. Torrens blood alcohol concentration was determined to be 0.119.

Torrens has been taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail.

He is charged with DUI manslaughter and DUI, as well as three counts of DUI property damage.
