A recent traffic stop led to one arrest and the confiscation of nearly 2 pounds of marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash, according to officials.

On Sept. 23, the Lee County Sheriff's Office reported that East District deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lee Street and Lee Boulevard due to inoperable tag lights. After being asked by the driver to check the lights, the deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.

A license check was done and the driver was found to have an indefinitely suspended license.
