The local chamber's annual business showcase, along with a job fair, is back on the calendar after being postponed due to Hurricane Irma.

The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce's The Expo was originally scheduled for Sept. 16, but will now take place Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lehigh Acres Senior Citizens Center, at 219 Plaza Drive. The event is free and open to the public.

"This event is a chance for local businesses (and) organizations to market their products and services to a large number of people in one location," Inke Schirrmacher, marketing director for the chamber, said.

Physicians, banks, real estate offices, insurance companies, salons and more will be in attendance.

"More than 40 exhibitors are participating and offering information on their products and services to the residents of Lehigh Acres and the surrounding area," Schirrmacher said.

Those seeking employment will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with businesses looking to hire for the upcoming season. Participants should bring an updated resume and dress professionally, depending upon the desired position.

In addition to vendor booths, the event will feature raffles, with prizes given out every 30 minutes.

Healthy Harvest Community Farms will be on hand to give out free produce grown locally at its farm.

"We will have a table at the event to give information and also talk about our expansion plans. This month we are kicking off our Rebuild, Replant and Restore campaign," Joe Pearson, chief executive officer for Healthy Harvest Farms, said.
