To the editor:

Two days ago, my wife was riding her bike through our neighborhood when an unleashed dog playing in the owner's front yard, charged at my wife's bike causing her to lose control and crash. She twisted her knee, scraped her elbow and could not ride her bike home. This was the second incident with the same dog. The city has a leash law for dogs. My wife, myself or anybody else should not have to fear attacks from a dog while enjoying a pleasant bike ride.

Three weeks ago, we were at a local restaurant enjoying a pleasant meal with friends when a person came in with an actual service guide dog. Apparently, some other group of people had their little "Fluffy" sitting in the booth with them as the service dog walked passed them. At that point little "Fluffy" went nuts barking at the service dog. The service dog was unaffected by this, but everybody else had to listen to this nonsense.

I like dogs, I have owned several, but I never had to take them to a restaurant to sit on a chair or booth, so everybody could ooh and ah at what a cute little dog it is. Do I want to sit on a chair or booth where the undiapered little darling has sat? No.

I am tired of seeing dogs in any food area like grocery stores and restaurants. They do not belong there.
