ClamJam of Southwest Florida set for Jan. 27-28

ClamJam of Southwest Florida will take place at the German American Club in Cape Coral Saturday, Jan. 27, and Sunday, Jan. 28.

The Saturday event will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday's hours are from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

"There will be plenty of arts and crafts, over 90 vendors, seminars and special attractions," event coordinator Pat Burman said. "We will also have lots of food, beverages and, of course, fresh clams. We also have a kids' area with rides and games."

Foods include professionally made clam chowders; specially created dishes with top neck, middle neck, little neck, steamers and venus clams.

You can eat them at the event or buy them by the dozen or pound, on ice and take it home for later.

Other foods available for those who don't or can't eat seafood will include hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, barbecue goat meat, barbecue chicken and ribs, and more.

There will also be fishing and clamming information and seminars.

Music will be provided by some of Southwest Florida's hottest bands: Rev. Barry & Funtatsic Soul, 24 Carat, Josh Rowland & Pitbull of Blues, Ayla Lynn, Brother Love Three, Jason Bonham, Strange Arrangement and Hatley Band.

Advance tickets are $8 ($10 at the gate). Children 12 and under are free.

Free parking will also be available on the German American Club grounds, which is located at 2101 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral.
