Lehigh Acres Architectural, Planning and Zoning Review Board held its monthly meeting on Feb. 22. Two presentations were made during the board's meeting, one was a request for a revision on a master plan and the second on an administrative amendment.

The first project for the board's consideration was a request for a revision of the Master Concept Plan of Caloosa Lakes MPD. The projected was presented by Kristina Johnson of JR Evans Engineering who asked for a proposed maximum lot coverage of 52 percent for the platted villa lots to allow for a larger attached villa home.

"Basically they were asking for an increase in the size of the buildings on the lots, as well as the ability to have extra open, green spaces surrounding condo units, lots and lakes," said Board Vice President Tami Baker.

The zoning board unanimously ruled in favor of the revision request.

The second item on the agenda was a request for an administrative amendment for a property at 9 Homestead R. North. Currently Vicki's Petz N' More is the business located on the site. The project was presented by Samir B. Syed who was asking for a usage amendment on the property, which would allow it to be used it as a church.

According to Baker, the board did not feel there was adequate parking to accommodate a church.

"No one on the board motioned to approve the request due to lack of parking spaces," said Baker.

The local planning and zoning board's next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District, at 601 East County Lane. Project submittal deadline for the next meeting is March 12.

The meetings are open to the public.
