A proposed truck storage facility has received a key nod.

The project presented by Quattrone & Associates came before the Lehigh Acres Architectural, Planning and Zoning Review Board on March 22. Sergio Guzman represented the firm, which made a request for a site and project approval.

The project entails the eventual building of truck storage facility to sit on approximately 3 acres at 5530 Lee Blvd.

"The zoning board's main concern was whether or not they would also be servicing the trucks on-site," said board member Mohamed Yasin.

According to Guzman, the parking facility would only provide storage for larger trucks, including semi-trucks, dump trucks and other industrial sized vehicles.

"After some discussion the board unanimously approved the request since the area is already zoned industrial," Yasin said.

Other topics discussed during this month's meeting fell under old business and was on by-law revisions.

The local planning and zoning board's next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District, at 601 East County Lane. Project submittal deadline for the next meeting is April 16.

The meetings are open to the public.
