By MELISSA BILL ( , Lehigh Acres Citizen

The Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District will host part two of its Civic Series on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 601 East County Lane.

The district, which is celebrating six decades of service to the Lehigh Acres community, will mark this milestone by hosting a special day dedicated to bringing local agencies and organizations together for a day of discussions.

The Civic Day event is chaired by David Deetscreek, Chairman of the Board for the Lehigh Acres MSID.

According to Deetscreek, the main purpose of the event is to unite local agencies and organizations in an effort to better serve the community.

"I have lived in and loved this community for more than 30 years. I have served on the Board of the Municipal District for eight years and know the importance of building community partnerships and implementing educational programs. As the district embarks on its 60th year of serving this community, I wanted to open our doors and bring our community organizations together to see what good we could achieve collectively. Civic Day is also a great resource for our residents to learn what services are available from local agencies," said Deetscreek.

The day-long event will welcome representatives from community organizations to participate in the speaker series to share their valued history and continued work within Lehigh Acres.

At the end of the presentations, there will be a moderator discussion on the future of Lehigh Acres.

The district held its first part of the mini-series back in June and various organizations attended including Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District, Lehigh Acres Community Services, Lehigh Acres Senior Center, Lehigh Regional Medical Center and members of the Community Council and Lee County School Board.

All local agencies and organizations are welcomed to participate and share their rich history, current efforts, and future goals for the community.

The community is invited to attend and hear the presentations, but space is limited, so early RSVPS are required.

Those wishing to attend the Civic Day event as a guest must RSVP as space is limited to 40.

They can do so by calling Carla Brantley at 239-368-0044 or email by July 23.

The event will be held at the Lehigh Acres MSID offices, 601 East County Lane, Lehigh Acres, 33936. The program begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by Mirror Lakes Golf Club
