Those 21 years old and older are invited to join the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce and the Seminole Casino/Hotel Immokalee for the annual Casino Night event next month.

Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce Special Events Coordinator Susan Kostyk said Casino Night turned into an annual event three or four years ago. She encourages members of the Chamber, as well as community members, to take part.

"We try to do events to get the community and businesses involved. This way you get to meet your neighbor and talk to people, pass out business cards and get referrals. You can chat with whomever you are sitting next to," Kostyk said. "It is a fun event for people to get together. The casino is a fun place to go. Right now we are having lunches on Meet the Candidates for political reasons. This is just a fun, neutral event that people can attend."

Casino Night will be held at the Zig Zag Lounge at Seminole Casino/Hotel Immokalee from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9. Reservations and prepaid tickets are required no later than Tuesday, July 31. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at, by calling (239) 369-3322, or in person at 25 Homestead Road, N, Suite 41 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

"We are not collecting any money the day of the event. All tickets must be prepaid," Kostyk said.

Tickets include appetizers and two drinks. In past years, Kostyk said the casino has provided such appetizers as chicken fingers, potato skins, veggies and dip, nachos, chips and salsa, crackers and dip and deserts.

"They will provide free play to the guests," she said.

Round trip transportation is also being provided by the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce for an additional $5. The mini vans will leave the Chamber at 5:15 p.m. and return at 10 p.m.

Kostyk said they are providing two mini vans for the transportation, beneficial for those who either do not want to make the trip to the casino, or who might enjoy a few alcoholic beverages while there.

Last year the event attracted between 75 and 80 people, which Kostyk hopes they will either meet, or surpass this go-around.

"This is a good opportunity for them to go without having to fight the crowd," she said. "You can get to the different machines that you want to play. It's fun because it's not real crowded. There is usually a lot of room to move around."

The Chamber is also asking businesses to sponsor the event through either $100 donation, which will grant them an ad in their program, or bring an item for the raffle.

"We are hoping to have them listed online, either on our Facebook page, or Chamber website before the actual day of the event," she said of the raffle items.

Casino Night is sponsored by the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce and Seminole Casino/Hotel Immokalee.
