On May 8th 2009 the LAFD recieved a letter from the Sutphen Corporation about the cancelation of the the new truck on order. Instead of fire dept paying a $113,780.00 cancelation fee the company (Sutphen) has offer to lower the cancelation fee to $29,000. That's correct $29,000 and return the difference of $426,159.76 to save jobs in the dept. Will the Chief and the Board make the correct decision now?
