Fire chief confronted
Dozens of firefighter jobs are on the chopping block in Lehigh Acres as a result of a massive budget shortfall. But the department has actually handed out more than a million dollars in raises in just the past three years. After analyzing three years worth of salary information, NBC2 uncovered the agency doled out a whopping $1.4-million in raises. And Lehigh Fire Chief Don Adams' salary went from $122,000 to $140,081 in just two years - an $18,000 raise. From EMTs to paramedics to the five firefighters making salaries in the six figures, records show everyone received raises. While some of those were small, some were in the double digits.
