The Lehigh Acres Christian Church has announced that the church will hold their annual Christmas Dinner Theatre on December 12 and 13.
The annual dinner theatre is free to the public.
This year’s play is titled Jesus Loves Fruit Cakes.
“This play is as fruity as the title sounds it will bring you to your knees with laughter, but beware you may hear a couple of sobs from the audience before its over, said Michelle Kelly, the director and the wife of Pastor Steve Kelly. Here’s the story of the play.
The Jesus House, an independent elderly care facility, is getting a new resident on Christmas Eve. The Christian staff and residents prepare to welcome Ellery Jamison into their world.
His daughter, whom he hasn’t seen in 20 years, is responsible for arranging his present placement. Unfortunately, Jamison is an atheist, and the last place on earth he wants to be is in a Christian nursing home.
Setting aside their harsh judgment of Jamison, the folks associated with Jesus House persevere and demonstrate love and acceptance that can only come from Jesus, Kelly said. The reuniting of a family after 20 years provides a surprise ending for all involved.
Guests will be served a turkey dinner including dessert and coffee.
“This annual event is a great way for the families of Lehigh Acres Christian Church to serve our community and say Merry Christmas,” Kelly said. Seating is limited so you are asked call as soon as possible to reserve your tables.
“Remember, this is free to the community, no strings attached,” Kelly said.
The church is located at 50 Bell Blvd. N. in Lehigh Acres.
