Lehigh Acres Middle School honored

Wednesday evening November 19 at Barbara B. Mann Hall of Performing Arts Lee County celebrated their Pride and Patriotism Contest and a a school in Lehigh Acres was honored.

The event was filled with patriotic music performed by students along with choruses from many of the schools in the county.

Lehigh Acres Middle School received a second place honor in the category of “Conquering Heroes Poetry” with the poem “Home Restored” written by Thomas Frank, an eighth grade gifted student. Thomas was accompanied on stage by his Language Arts teacher William Gerstner and two war veterans. This was the first time Lehigh Acres Middle School has earned this honor, said Thomas T. Craig, Lehigh Acres Middle School’s yearbook adviser.
