Elizabeth J. Parry
Elizabeth J. Parry, 83, a resident of Lehigh Acres since 1978 died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008.
Known by her many friends as Betty, her family said she was called a wonderful caring person.
Born in Plymouth, Pa., on July 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Edith (Moss) Jenkins.
She was married for 59 years to Robert W. Parry who preceded her in death.
They lived in Dallas, Pa., until moving to Lehigh Acres.
She was active in the Dallas United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and coordinated the concession stand for the Back Mountain Baseball for Boys Little League program for several years.
After moving to Florida, Parry became an active member of Christ United Methodist Church of Lehigh.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Vozniak of Dallas, Pa.,; a son, and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Jane Parry of Bloomington, Ind; grandchildren, Lisa Ann Kelly, Michael and his wife, Patty Vozniak; Mitchell Parr and his wife, Anita Bhushan; and Jessica Parry. Also surviving are three great grandchildren, James and Lauren Kelly and Michael Vozniak Jr.; a brother, William Jenkins and sister-law, Elizabeth Soltis.
A visitation was held on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at Christ United Methodist Church in Lehigh. A funeral service followed.
The family suggests that as a tribute to the memory of Elizabeth Parry, that donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 14309 Homestead Rd. North, Lehigh Acres, FL, 33936, or to the Dallas United Methodist Church, Parsonage, St. Dallas, Pa., 18612. Arrangements were handled by the Farley Funeral Home, Lehigh Acres.
