Man accused of fleeing state with minor extradited to Lee County
A Cape Coral man, accused of fleeing to Huston with a 16-year-old female runaway, was extradited to the Lee County Jail Friday, according to jail records.
Christopher P. Beckner, 37, of 606 S.E. 36th Street, is being held in the Lee County Jail without bond, records show.
He is charged with aggravated stalking after an injunction was placed against him, cruelty toward a child by use or allowing a child to engage in sex, interfering with custody of a minor and violation of a domestic violence injunction.
The victim’s mother told police she had an injunction placed against Beckner in October, to keep him away from her daughter.
Police said Beckner ran off with the 16-year-old girl Nov. 18.
After Cape Coral Police issued endangered runaway posters in Texas and nine other states, Huston police located the two in a hotel and arrested Beckner Nov. 22. The victim was placed into the custody of Child Protective Services.
The victim’s mother contacted police Nov. 12 because the victim had left her home to live with Beckner, police said. Police were unable to arrest Beckner at that time, as he had fled the scene on foot.
