Patrick E. Comiskey
Patrick E. Comiskey, 73, of Lehigh Acres, died Saturday January 10, 2009.
A U.S. Army veteran, Comiskey worked for the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers for 29 1/2 years, and at Wal-Mart in Lehigh Acres for four years.
He was a member of the KNights of Columbus and St. Raphael Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Diane; nine children, James Patrick Comiskey, Brian Comiskey, Erin Williams, Mary Ann Eichorne, Patty Ann Comiskey, Patrick Comiskey, Michael Comiskey, Margie Comiskey and Catherine Comiskey. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church. The family was to receive friends Tuesday between 2 and 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Farley Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice.
Dolores Conrad
Dolores Conrad, 70, of Lehigh Acres died Friday, December 26, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. She was born June 2, 1938 in Baltimore, Md., and was the daughter of William and Mildred McClary. In her life she enjoyed bowling, going the casino and feeding her pet squirrels. Her family said she was a devoted wife, beloved mother and grandmother and a true friend to all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ken; daughters, Dana, Terry and Autumn (Charlie); son, Hank; grandchildren, Elise, Ellen, Patrick and Tyler;
brothers, Eddy, John and Bobby. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ernie.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 4 p.m. in the Church of the Nazarene 210 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres.
Richard Strnad
Richard Strnad, 79, of Lehigh Acres, died Saturday, January 3, 2009.
He is survived by his life-long partner and soulmate Joan Strnad. He also leaves behind two siblings, four children, nine grandchildren, and two great-
grandchildren.
A memorial service was held for him on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lehigh Acres at 1102 Leeland Heights Blvd.
Mary Kavula
Mary Kavula, 94, died on January 6, 2009 at Sterling House, Lehigh Acres. She was the wife of the late Sgt. Michael Kavula (retired from the Waterbury, Conn., Police Dept., who died in 1996. She was born January 22, 1914, in Waterbury, to Christina and Matthew Mazeika.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Lariviere (Robert); one son Michael Jr.
(Clara); five Grandchildren, and six great-grand Children.
In Lehigh Acres, since 1972, she volunteered
more than 500 hours for the Lehigh Regional Medical Center. She volunteered her sewing talents
to the Sunland Training Center. She made quilted lap robes that she donated to nursing homes and veterans. She was a member of St. Raphael’s Church for 29 years.
Visitation will be at Anderson Funeral Home of Lehigh Acres, FL. on Tuesday, January 13, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and funeral service at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church will be at 11 a.m., with burial immediately following at Lee Memorial
Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
Vernley R. Tice
Vernley R. Tice, 79, of Cape Coral, formerly of Lehigh Acres, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 following an extended illness. He was born May 31, 1929 in Goshen, N.Y., and moved to Southwest Florida from Middletown, N.Y. in 1991. He was an Elder for the Presbyterian Church.
Tice is survived by his wife of 12 years, Lisa L. Tice; four children: Sandra Kerrison and husband, Dean of Lockport, N.Y., Danny Tice and wife, Anita of Lockport, N.Y, Skip Bentley and wife, Robin of Lehigh Acres and Nicole Williams and husband, Bruce of Los Angeles, Calif.; his sister, Lois Knox of Lavaca, Arizona; grandchildren: Jason, Melissa, Danny Jr., Todd, Elizabeth, Joshua, Sarah and Hannah and two great grandchildren, Jalen and Damian.
Memorial services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Chaplain Steven Horner officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers.
Victor D. Steele
Victor D. Steele, 77, of Lehigh Acres died Friday December 26, 2008.
A resident for the past 19 years, he was formerly of Quebec, Canada.
He is survived by his son, Michael Steele; daughters, Joanne and Dianne Steele, sons-in-law, Kevin Cerone and James Fisher, daughter-in-law, Susan; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Kaitlan, Ryan, Brent, Rachelle, Noelle, and Ryan.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home

Tracy Potpolak
Tracy Potpolak, 39, of Lehigh Acres, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008. She was a resident of Lehigh for the last 14 years. She was born in Torrington, Conn., where she lived most of her life, and graduated from Torrington High School.
She was a major part of a family owned tomato business – Immokalee Produce Shippers.
She is survived by her husband, John Potpolak of 17 years and four children: Meghen, 16; Johny, 15;
Aleyna, 8; and Ryley, 18 months.
She is also survived by her mother and father, Barbara and Rich Levine of Fort Myers. She leaves a brother and sister, Rick and Debra Levine. Also Richie, Lindsay, Ryan, Donald, Johnny, Ulyssia, Dylan, Brandon, Muriayah and Landon.
Tracy leaves a sister, brother and a niece, Robin, Bruce and Breonna Provent; also Missy, Adrienne, Kaleigh, Isabella, Tyler and Aubrey. Tracy leaves her father-in-law John Potpolak from Winsted, Conn.; her sisters and brothers, Pam and Ron Banks, Debra and Mackenzie Michelson, Cheryl and Dabid Pecha. Also Katie and Alex Pecha.
Memorial services were held at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009.
