Citizens asked to help in cleanup in Lehigh Saturday
There will be a major effort to clean up one neighborhood at a time in Lehigh Acres. With crime up in Lehigh Acres, as reported by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, there are many citizens who want to take back their neighborhoods.
The cleanup campaign will be Saturday, Jan. 24 and a tent will be set up on the corner of Martin Ave. and Meadow Rd. and the cleanup will be starting at 8 a.m. and run though 1 p.m.
There will be staff members from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Code Enforcement, and other community leaders and activists helping out during this community event, according to spokeswoman Deborah Sebastian.
“We will be providing shade and shelter tents, water, pickers, safety vests, trash bags and a dumpster. We are asking the community to provide one hour service out of five to make Lehigh Acres a better place to live,” said Sebastian.
