Lehigh Chamber holds annual banquet Saturday night
Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce members will honor several people in the community at their annual banquet Saturday night at the Pelican Preserve Country Club off of Colonial Blvd.
It will be the first banquet for the new president of the Chamber, Joe Whalen, who along with his staff and volunteers has been planning the event for several weeks.
State Sen. David Aronberg will be the guest speaker. He is expected to talk about the recent special session in Tallahassee and the state’s budget woes.
Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner beginning at 7 p.m.
A new board of directors will also be sworn in following the banquet.
The Chamber holds a monthly luncheon on the last Tuesday of each month at the Majestic Golf Club. In addition, several committees meet during the week. The Chamber is one of the more active Chambers in Lee County. The price for members is $50 or $60 at the door.
There will also be a silent auction of gifts and services provided by Chamber members. All proceeds will go to the Chamber, which provides scholarships to students in the community.
