Two youths charged with robbery, third sought
Fort Myers police arrested two teens and are seeking a third after a man was beaten today after he left a soup kitchen, was accosted, and could not produce any money, police said.
According to reports, Alan Buderow, 54, had just left the soup kitchen when three teenagers approached him and demanded his wallet and money. Buderow told the teens he didn’t have any money and they began to beat him, according to police.
A concerned passerby called police to report the robbery and then described the youths to responding officers.
Meanwhile, the suspects fled the scene.
FMPD officers, with assistance of deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and their aviation unit, set up a perimeter.
Police apprehended Broderick Robinson, 15, and Sean Breeson, 14, and charged them with robbery without a deadly weapon, police said.
A third suspect is still being sought.
Buderow was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital and treated for his injuries.
