Jan 27, 2009

Memorial services were held Jan. 17, 2009 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Lehigh Acres for Charles F. Goehle Jr., 90, of Lehigh. He died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Frances “Peggy” Goehle and the late Betty E. Goehle.

In addition to his wife, Peggy, Goehle is survived by his sons, Kenneth H. (Karen) and Paul C. (Lisa) Goehle; a daughter, Laurel G. (C Cecil) Raulerson, and stepdaughters, Lois (Robert) Rodich and Betty Ann Huelster; a sister, Jeanette Tolsma; and grandchildren, Lisa-Marie Kessler, Mark, Christopher, Timothy and Charles Goehle III. Also surviving are several great grandchildren.

Goehle was a very active member of the Masonic Fraternity. He was Master of Lehigh Acres Lodge twice, High Priest of Poinciana Chapter, Master of Fort Myers Council and served twice as Commander of fort Myers Commandery.

He was honored with the title of Knight of the York Cross of Honor in 1981, an honor reserved for those who have presided over all four York Rite Bodies. He also served as District Deputy in all four York Rite Bodies, earning the rarely conferred title of “Four Winged Chicken” in 1991.

He and his son, Paul, also owned and operated Alva Air Conditioning for many years. Anderson Funeral Home of Lehigh handled arrangements.

The family has suggested that as a tribute to the memory of Charles F. Goehle Jr., that contributions be made in his name to Hope Hospice or to the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.
