Lee County Sheriff’s Office divers are conducting an investigation today after two vehicles were found submerged ion a canal near the Hendry County line in a remote area of eastern Lehigh Acres.

Investigators said the cars were in a canal near Ernest St. and Naples Ave.

No word has been released as to what investigators may have found. Officials said one vehicle was pulled out of the water. It was identified as a Toyota Corolla. At around noon, officials said there attempting to pull a second vehicle from the canal. They identified it as a red pickup truck.

Whether the vehicles were stolen is not known, but officials say cars sometimes are found in canals after they have been stolen.
