Eyes Centers of Fla. founder to speak in Venezuela
Dr. David C. Brown, founder of Eye Centers of Florida, will present the keynote address at the International Ophthalmology Reunion on February 5 in Valencia, Venezuela. More than 400 physicians from Spain, Colombia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and the United States are expected to attend the conference. He will also lecture on the latest advances in cataract lens replacements and perform several demonstrative surgeries as part of the ophthalmologic seminar.

During the conference, Brown will be honored for his achievements in cataract and refractive surgery and acknowledged as a leading pioneer of ophthalmology, only the second doctor to receive this prestigious honor.
As a leader in cataract surgery both in the United States and abroad, Brown has traveled extensively during his more than three decades of medical service, teaching surgical techniques, performing no-cost surgeries to the underprivileged in the U.S. and abroad, and participating in advanced surgical clinical trials. He has visited the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Venezuela, France, England and Trinidad to speak and perform his specialty surgeries.
He has been recognized for his significant contributions to the advancements made in ophthalmology in South America.
Dr. Brown has performed more cataract and premium lens surgeries than any other surgeon in south Florida as ophthalmologists from around the world visit Eye Centers of Florida to learn about his signature cataract removal technique and medical research.
Currently celebrating its 35th year of service to Southwest Florida, Eye Centers of Florida was founded by Brown in 1982. The company has 13 offices throughout Southwest Florida, from Venice south to Naples and east to Clewiston, as well as a surgery center and main clinic on Evans Avenue in Fort Myers.
