Caregivers invited to free training classes in Lehigh

If you are the full-time caregiver for a loved one, you are invited to attend free caregiver training and education classes in Lee County during February.

You must call in order to get registered for CARE Classes. Class dates and times: Feb. 17, 19, 24 and 26. Call 1-866-231-0921.

It is being hosted by Sterling House, 1251 Business Way in Lehigh Acres from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

The CARE Program, Caregiver Assistance and Regional Education is a collaborative outreach effort between The State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida, Inc., Lee Memorial Health System, Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center and Hope Hospice and Community Services.

Personal care, caregiver feelings, roles and responsibilities, end-of-life issues and community resources are just a few of the topics to be discussed.

Classes are held twice a week for two consecutive weeks, with each class lasting around three hours.
