Obama arrives at airport in Fort Myers

By Staff | Feb 10, 2009

President Barack Obama arrived in Southwest International Regional Airport at around 11:20 a.m. today, Tuesday. The president stopped off the plane at around 11:34 a.m. and is expected to be in downtown Fort Myers shortly after noon where he will speak to the people of Lee County.

Lehigh Acres resident Bo Turbeville may meet the President and hand over a letter from the residents of Lehigh Acres telling of the plight of the unincorporated community and how they would like to see the stimulus package can help them.

At the airport, he paused and shook hands with some people at the airport. He was seen checking his watch knowing he was due at noon at the Harborside Event Center. He signed a few autographs before he got into a limo to travel to downtown Fort Myers.

Security is tight all over Fort Myers and traffic has been stopped along an undisclosed route to downtown.
