Alliance gets ready for summer arts program for students
Registration is now open for the Lee County Alliance for the Arts summer camp programs. Kicking off the 21st annual Summer Arts Camps, the Alliance welcomes campers, grades one through ninth, to develop and explore their visual and performing arts skills, revolving around weekly themes.
Students participating in the Alliance’s “Summer Arts Camp,” scheduled to begin June 22 August 7 for grades first through sixth are grouped by age and fill their day with visual arts projects and performing art activities, says Chelsea Birczak, a spokeswoman for the Alliance. Each week culminates with a display of each campers work and performance for friends and family.
The second annual Triple Threat Musical Theatre Summer Camp begins June 29 and runs through August 7 for grades seven and nine. This camp in its second year is held at The Off Broadway Palm Theatre at The Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, she said.
Each week campers learn techniques that give them skills to become a “triple threat,” dancing, singing and acting, she said.
