Why is Rep. Mack so against the people?

By Staff | Feb 17, 2009

To The Editor,

Congressman Connie Mack clearly listens to some of the people, some of the time, but never hears all of the people all of the time.

Addressing the many hardships of the people who are suffering here in Lehigh, Fort Myers and Cape Coral, he is to them an obstructionist to the stimulus Plan that President Obama and the Democrats are trying to get through Congress to help us.

Many people were alarmed by the Sept. 16 crisis in our money markets selling off. They remember a day when the money markets lost a half trillion dollars in two hours.

Such a freefall could have triggered a close in that market and could have done serious damage to the economy in the U.S. and globally.

Were it not for the Federal Reserve Bank and FDIC’s intervention on Sept. 19, 2009, whose actions ensured money market funds up to $250,000, we could have lost trillions of dollars.

Connie Mack, your inability to put country first and party second should cost you the U.S. House seat you have dishonored by casting all the “rubber stamp votes” for the Bush agenda.

Most of all, parents with children have suffered by your voting five times against the S-Chip bill. But it passed, no thanks to our congressman, and 400,000 children in Florida will now receive health care benefits from Obama hard work of getting the bill through Congress.

I find Mack’s remarks addressing “more freedom” hard to believe when he supported votes that helped George Bush methodically take away American freedoms.

Most of us here in Southwest Florida see you for what you are, a traitor to the people you represent.
