By Staff | Feb 22, 2009

The Lee County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to release the cause of death Monday of an African American man who was found along the banks of the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers Saturday morning.

Officials said a resident in the area saw the body wash ashore near a home on the river. Police in Fort Myers responded to a call shortly before 8 a.m. to a site on East Riverside Drive. There was no ID on the body and authorities said they didn’t know how long the body had been in the river. According to the Fort Myers Police Dept., there were no signs of trauma.
