DelCastillo is a blue ribbon winner
Leonore DelCastillo of Lehigh Acres, was awarded winning ribbons during the recent 2009 Southwest Florida Woodcarving Exposition in Fort Myers. She won a blue ribbon in the Beginners Category with her “Mountain Goats,” shown here and second place for “Relief Carving Barn,” and third place for “Henny” the Penguin. Some 700 entries were at the Expo. Also winning ribbons was James Wright of Lehigh who won second place for the woodburning “Old Fireman,” and an honorable mention for “Tlingit Indian, both in the Intermediate category. Both attend woodcarving places at the Lehigh Senior Center on Plaza Drive. DelCastillo also attends classes on stained glass making and line dancing at the Center. Photo by Mel Toadvine
