Lehigh leaders going to Tallahassee to lobby for community

The Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce today said that community leaders from Lehigh will join other business and government leaders from Lee County on March 24 when the travel to Tallahassee to meet with State officials.

Joe Whalen, president of the Chamber, along with Chamber members Edd Weiner and Jere Carrick, will carry copies of the Lehigh Acres Economic Stimulus Plan to the State Capitol, Chamber officials said.

During the two-day visit they will meet with legislative leaders to discuss issues facing Lehigh Acres and to lobby on behalf of businesses and citizens of the community.

Among those they are scheduled to meet while in Tallahassee are: Gov. Charlie Crist, Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp, Senate President Jeff Atwater, State Sen. Dave Aronberg, State Sen. Michael Bennett, and State Rep. Paige Kreegle.

Participants will travel by bus to Tallahassee. The bus leaves from the Sheriff’s Office at14750 Six Mile Cypress on March at 1 p.m.
