Open House ends today at High Tech Center
There will be an Open House for the community and prospective students, including adult students and career changers at the High Tech Central at 3800 Michigan Ave., in Fort Myers from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18.
Anyone interested in attending a program at High Tech Central may sit in on classes while they are in session, said Bill McCormick, the assistant director of the High Tech Center.
He said the school offers 25 career training programs, including, practical nursing, marine service technology, carpentry, plumbing technology, electronic technology,m accounting, cosmetology and many more subjects.
According to he 2008 Bureau of Labor Statistics report, nearly a third of the fastest growing occupations will require an associate’s degree or a post-secondary vocational certificate.
“And with the economy in the state it is in, many adults are in need of training to change their career and get back to work,” McCormick said.
He aid High Tech Central has been the leading provider of career training in Lee County for more than 42 years. Bright Futures scholarships are accepted and adults may be eligible for financial aid or scholarships. All students are assisted with job placement, McCormick said.
