FGUA board meets in Lehigh Thursday

By Staff | Mar 18, 2009

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority will hold its monthly board of directors meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Majestic Golf Club at 350 Homestead Rd. in Lehigh Acres.

The public is welcome to attend. Expected are many property owners who have learned they must sign up to a sewer line if one runs down their street if they are on the FGUA system. And their septic systems must be done away with. There is considerable expense for property owners to hook up to the system.

Authorities with FGUA are may answer their concerns.

A closed door meeting will be held by the board and a strategy session is open to the public.

If you have any concerns and questions over the state mandated hook-ups that affect at least 166 residential properties, you can address the board.

The original agenda did not include a discussion over the mandated sewer hookup; however, it was amended Tuesday and is available online at FGUA.com, said Robert Anderson, who heads a PAC known as Watchdog, Inc.
