Teen charged with attempted murder

A 16-year-old youth was charged with attempted murder Friday after police say he stabbed his stepfather multiple times.
Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Trelis Road and Oriole Roadin Fort Myers at approximately 11:49 p.m. in reference to a stabbing, officials said. When deputies arrived, they found Jason Pinkerton, 31, sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, suffering from multiple stab wounds. As deputies provided first aid, Pinkerton identified his stepson, Justin Tetreault, as the suspect.
Deputies established a perimeter while the Lee County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and Aviations Units responded to assist in the search for the suspect.
Justin Deems Tetreault was located a short time later and detained without incident, officials said. Meanwhile, Pinkerton was transported to an area hospital via helicopter. He was listed in serious condition Saturday morning and is expected to recover, officials said.
Tetreault has been charged with one count of attempted murder. He was taken to the Lee County Jail for booking.
Tetreault’s most recent address is listed as 5104 Lee Circle, Lehigh Acres. Pinkerton’s address is listed as 4090 Woodbrier Drive, Fort Myers.
