By Staff | Mar 24, 2009

Suspect in attempted abduction case released by Lee County Sheriff's Office.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has released a composite drawing of the suspect that they say made an attempt to abduct a Lehigh Acres teenager on Thursday, March 19.

Investigators said the suspect was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and the drawing shows a mole on his face.

Investigators said the juvenile female said she got off a school bus in the area of Gulfview Drive and 14th St. SW and began walking toward her home. While walking, she was grabbed by a black male, who attempted to pull her into a nearby wooded area, investigators said.

They said the girl fought back by hitting the suspect several times, and was able to get away from the suspect, running to a nearby residence to call 911.

The suspect is described as a black male, possibly with a Haitian accent, in his mid 30s, six feet tall, 190-200 pounds, dark skin, and no facial hair. The victim also described a small mole or birthmark on his right cheek. At the time of the attack, the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black shoes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1000, or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
