Bring antiques to show for appraisals
You can bring you antiques to the Faith Lutheran Church’s fourth annual antique appraisal show on April 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. An professional appraiser will be on hand and you will be charged by cost per item at $10. Church officials said the cost for three items to be appraised is $20. The show will also feature a consignment table or a silent auction, bake sale, car wash by the Boy Scouts and refreshments by the church youth group. There will also be shears and knife sharpening at the event.
If you would to pre-register, you can by calling the church at 369-6177 or by stopping by the church office at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. A spokesman at the church said this allows the appraiser time to research your items.

Lions raffle winner is announced
A winner has been selected by the Lions Club of Lehigh Acres for its recent raffle for a two-day roundtrip to Key West. Bill Theis won the raffle at a drawing at the Lions meeting on March 17. He lives at Majestic Golf Club community in the winter and in Ohio in the summer. He won the two tickets.
The money received from this raffle will go for eye exams and glasses for needy children in Lehigh Acres, a club official said.
ABWA has scholarships to offer
The Lehigh Chapter for the American Business Women’s Association has educational scholarships available to students in need. You can contact the group’s educational chairman, Chris Snelgrove at 239-369-2411 or your guidance person at your school. Deadline for applications is April 1, 2009.
Time ‘to get healthy’ at Veterans Park
It’s time to get healthy, said Katerine Dumais with the Veterans Park Recreational Center.
“Come learn more about important health topics; such as cancer, heart disease, nutrition, and disease caused by pollution. Four classes are provided per session. Classes take place every Thursday between 11 and 11:30 a.m,” she said.
Class runs April 2 to April 23, ages 18 and older may participate. This class is free, she said.

Final program for Concert Band is March 29
The final concert for the Lehigh Concert Band will be Sunday March 29 at 3 p.m. at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 215 Richmond Ave. North in Lehigh Acres.
George Unverzagt, director, has chosen a varied and interesting program including the “Londonderry Air” (Danny Boy) to be sung with the band by Ken Follette.A free-will offering will be taken during the concert. Practice will resume in October. Watch for the announcement in the Citizen. If you play a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument, get it out and practice this summer so you can join the group. Saturday breakfast to help capital fund
The First Community Congregational United Church of Christ at 200 Leeland Heights Blvd. has instituted a capital campaign building fund for a new building. Members will serve four breakfast choices every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The church was the first built in Lehigh and has been active in community affairs ever since. The cost of the break is $5.
