The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the remains of a deceased individual. On September 19, 2007, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to Burnt Store Road, near the area of Durden Parkway, in reference to the discovery of a skull and scattered bones. Investigators confirmed the remains were human.
A short time later, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office generated a composite sketch of the unknown individual. Unfortunately, the deceased individual still has not been identified, officials say.
Investigators are hoping that re-releasing this composite sketch to the local media will generate information from the public that could lead to a positive identification.
According to preliminary analysis conducted by the District 21 Medical Examiner, the remains are that of a white or hispanic male, approximately 30-49 years of age, approximately 5’5″ – 5’7″, with the estimated time of death between three to 20 years ago.
See the attached composite.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1000.
