LRMC supports new Hope Hospice House
Lehigh Regional Medical Center’s (LRMC) staff has contributed $2,500 toward the construction of a Hope Hospice House to be constructed in Lehigh Acres.
The new Hope Hospice House will serve Lehigh Acres, LaBelle, Clewiston, the Gateway community, Alva, East Fort Myers, Buckingham and all points in between. It will include 24 private patient care suites, bereavement counseling offices, a chapel, and community rooms for education.
“Medical staff at Lehigh Regional Medical Center took this initiative to work in conjunction with hospital employees and Lehigh community to bring Hope Hospice’s in-patient services in our community,” said Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad, chief of staff at LMRC. “This will enable patients and their families to spend more time together by eliminating long commutes to other facilities. We would like to thank Hope Hospice for taking the initiative to build a Hope Hospice house in our community.”
LRMC President and CEO Joe Morillo said it is an honor for Lehigh Regional Medical Center “to assist Hope Hospice with its noble mission.”
“Like Lehigh Regional, Hope is working diligently to meet the growing and changing needs of the community,” said Hope President and CEO Samira K. Beckwith. “We deeply appreciate the support of their staff. Hope has long enjoyed a good working relationship with Lehigh Regional, and we will continue to work in partnership in meeting the community’s health care needs.”
