Gerald R. Horth

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday April 1, 2009 at the Anderson Funeral Home at 2701 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh Acres for Gerald R. Horth, 82, of Lehigh and formerly of Utica, N.Y. He died Thursday March 26, 2009.

He was the son of the late John and Alice (Boon) Horth, Horth was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Horth, who died in 1978.

Horth served in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines during WWII. He was a retired teamster of Local #182 in Utica, N.Y., as well as a retired member of Yoder Bros. in Alva, the Deborah Senior Friendship Center, and American Legion Post 323 and Fleet Reserve #144.

Horth is survived by wife, Evelyn (McParland) Horth; three brothers, a sister, a son, two step sons, three daughters, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Deborah Senior Friendship Center. Anderson Funeral Home of Lehigh handled all arrangements.
