$10,000 worth of cocaine confiscated; Lehigh man is charged

Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division said this weekend that they finalized a two-month investigation into local cocaine trafficking. The operation began in early February, and over the course of the next two months, detectives made multiple purchases of cocaine from the suspect, identified as Jorge A. Garcia Rendon, 20, of Lehigh.
The transactions occurred in the parking lot of the Publix supermarket, located at 5781 Lee Boulevard, Lehigh, investigators said. They would negotiate the purchase of several ounces of cocaine from Garcia Rendon and meet him in person to conduct the transaction, the said.
On Wednesday, April 1, detectives arranged to meet Rendon in the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy, located at the intersection of SR 82 and Lee Boulevard, to purchase five ounces of cocaine. At approximately 2:45 p.m., Rendon was seen getting out of a white 2005 Ford F-150. He was immediately placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in cocaine.
Five ounces of cocaine were located inside his vehicle, investigators said.
The investigation resumed at Rendon’s home at 1920 Venice Avenue N., in Lehigh. Inside the home, investigators recovered an additional two ounces of cocaine along with 65 grams of marijuana.

In total, the investigation resulted in the recovery of nearly 12 ounces of cocaine with an estimated street value of nearly $10,000,investigators said. Rendon was charged with four counts of trafficking in cocaine and one count of felony possession of marijuana.
