Armed robber with gun on the loose

The Sunoco Station at 8671 Littleton Rd. in North Fort Myers was hit by an armed robber shortly before noon today. Lee County Sheriff’s deputies said they got the call at 11:45 a.m.

The unidenfied cashier at the store described the robber as a fair skinned white man between 30 and 40 years of age with a sandy or blondish colored beard.

Investigators said the man was wearing a white to light gray T-shirt and a white basebal cap and some type of eye glasses.

The suspect walked into the gas station and said, “This is robbery” and he pulled out a black colored pistol and demanded money from the register.

Investigators said the robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Sheriff’s units, including air support and K-9 units joined in the search for the suspect. There were no injuries in the incident.

The Lee County Sheriff’s is asking the public call the Sheriff’s Office if they have any information about this crime. If you saw someone running from the area of the robbery, your information may lead law enforcement to find the suspect.
