You can post events online

Now you can post your organizational events that are happening in Lehigh Acres. You can post to The Citizen’s Community Calendar. All you have to do is click on the newspaper’s website (Lehighacrescitizen.com) and go to Monthly Calender and click on Submit Events (under the Calendar) and post your event. This is a non-profit site available to club groups and other organizations. For help, you can call The Citizen at 368-3944.

Elks to install offer at dinner, dance

Come and congratulate the new 2009-2010 officers for the Elks at their Installation Dinner and Dance on Saturday, April 11.

Installation is at 5 p.m. with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.

The menu consists of roast beef and music is by LeDeux. Price is $14 per person. and dress is men with jackets and tie and ladies with cocktail dresses. Call Melba McCleave for tickets at 303-1866.

Elks Ladies to have dinner April 16

The Ladies of Elks, Past President, Lady Elk of the Year and a Good-Bye Dinner is set for April 16. Menu includes prime rib. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Price is $10 per person. For more information call Marian 3688-390.

Spring Fling planned at Congregational Church

A Spring Fling luncheon card party will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 3 p.m. at the First Community Congregational UCC Church at 200 E. Leeland Heights Blvd. Cost is $5 with prizes for everyone and a 50/50 raffle, too. It is sponsored by the Woman’s Fellowship. Call to reserve a table at 369-2558. New wrestling club organized in Lehigh

The East Lee County Youth Wrestling Club has been organized with registration beginning at the Spring Festival and will continue throughout wrestling season which begins on Tuesday, April 7. Practice is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and is held at East Lee County High School. For more information call 239-303-2084. Sponsors are needed to help with the expenses. First Baptist to hold Easter Cantata

The First Baptist Church Easter Cantata “For such a One as This” will be held Good Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 11 at 6 p.m. The church is at 1102 Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh Acres. For more information, call 369-6141.

Time ‘to get healthy’ at Veterans Park

It’s time to get healthy, said Katerine Dumais with the Veterans Park Recreational Center.

“Come learn more about important health topics; such as cancer, heart disease, nutrition, and disease caused by pollution. Four classes are provided per session. Classes take place every Thursday between 11 and 11:30 a.m,” she said.

Class runs April 2 to April 23, ages 18 and older may participate. This class is free, she said.

Saturday breakfast to help capital fund

The First Community Congregational United Church of Christ at 200 Leeland Heights Blvd. has instituted a capital campaign building fund for a new building. Members will serve four breakfast choices every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The church was the first built in Lehigh and has been active in community affairs ever since. The cost of the break is $5.
