Robert G. Holscher

Robert (Bobby) George Holscher, 52 of Lehigh Acres, died on April 7, 2009, at his home after a battle with lung cancer. He was born in Tarrytown, N.Y., on April 11, 1956 to John H. Holscher Jr. and Laura (Koch) Holscher.

Bobby was raised in Ossining, N.Y., and served in the U. S. Navy as a machinist mate 3 from January 22, 1974 until January 21, 1980. He is Past Commander of the American Legion Post 323 in Lehigh. He was employed by ITT Water & Waste Water Management, Fort Myers Division. His hobbies included fishing, working on cars, reading, bowling, golf, traveling and enjoying time with his family and friends, especially his grandson, Tyler and his dog, Otto.

Holscher is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Holscher of Lehigh; three grandchildren, Christopher Hagmann, Brandi Hagmann and Tyler Costa of Lehigh; his mother, Laura K. Holscher of Lehigh; six brothers and six sisters, Theresa (William) Leonard of St. Inigoes, Md., John (Barbara) Holscher III, of New London, N.C., Marion Parker of Sugar Grove, VA., Dorothy (Carmine) Maugeri of Port Orange, Fla., Virginia (Frederick) Del Lago of Ellenton, Fla., Charles (Dina) Holscher of Hiwassee, Va., Edward (Mary Jo) Holscher of Lehigh, Alice (Alan) Gaines of Ruffin, N.C., George (Stacey) Holscher of Chesapeake, Va.,, and Donald (Angel) Holscher of Lehigh, Rosalind (Lou) Goz of Lehigh, sister-in-law, Patricia (Mark) Masterson of Hopatcong, N.J., Margaret (John) Camera of Attleboro, Mass. Cathleen (Tim) McLin Alva. Bobby is survived by 19 nieces, 17 nephews. He was godfather to 11 children.

He is predeceased by his son, Christopher James Costa, father, John H. Holscher Jr., and sister, Laura M. Hriskonich.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Holscher’s Life at the home of Edward Holscher, in Lehigh, on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 3 p.m., starting with a memorial service, followed by a time for family and friends to share fond memories and stories of Bobby.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Holscher’s memory to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
