Sheriff honors Communications Team

By Staff | Apr 11, 2009

Every year, the second full week of April is dedicated to honoring the men and women who serve the community as public safety telecommunicators. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office in a press release said it is proud to recognize the following four individuals for excellence in their area of expertise, as voted by their peers and co-workers:

911 Operator of the year: Abby Ware (of Alva)

Dispatcher of the year: Tammy Tremblay (Lehigh Acres)

Supervisor of the year: Becky Stoddard (Lehigh Acres)

Training Officer of the year: Suse Singletary (Punta Gorda)

All four were nominated for bringing out the best in others while giving the best of themselves, authorities said.

“The commitment to excellence, professionalism, and desire to make a difference in the community shown by these four individuals is a large part of what makes this agency so successful,” said Sheriff Mike Scott. “I am very proud of each of them, as well as all members of the Communications Division who work so closely with members of Law Enforcement to make Lee County a safer place for everyone.”

This year, National Public Safety Communications Week will be recognized April 12 through April 18.
