Grocery store robbery suspect sought
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said today investigators are looking for the public’s help in apprehending two suspects wanted for a robbery that occurred at Maz Grocery on April 12.
On that date, they said, at approximately 8:59 p.m. deputies responded to 302 Center Road, Fort Myers in reference to a reported armed robbery. Upon deputy’s arrival, a store employee said while working, two black males entered, both brandishing firearms.
One of the suspects ordered the store employee to turn around and face away from the suspects. The employee complied with this demand while the suspects went behind the counter and searched the area near the cash register, investigators said.
Once the suspects left the store, the employee took inventory and discovered the suspects made off with multiple cartons of cigarettes as well as an undisclosed amount of cash. The store employee was not injured during the incident.
Suspect No. 1 is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet, thin build, wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue jeans, black sneakers, and black gloves. Suspect No. 2 is also a black male, 5’10”, heavy build, tan T-shirt, blue jeans, and wearing gloves.
