$42,000 pledged for Lehigh Hope Hospice House at event
Residents of the Majestic Golf Club community, members of the Lehigh Acres Community Council and the American Legion along with other area residents are bringing “Hope Close to Home” by supporting the construction of a Hope Hospice House in Lehigh Acres.
About 35 people attended a recent event, where $42,000 was raised for Hope’s capital campaign, in celebration of Hope’s vision for greater access to health care and hospice services throughout the area. Pledging $10,000 over five years: The American Legion Post 323; Donnie Ashmore and Jeff Plybon; Majestic Golf Club and Mary Lou Land.
The event was hosted by Majestic Golf Club General Manager Jere Carrick, who also serves on the Committee for the new Hope Hospice House in Lehigh Acres.
The new Hope Hospice House will serve Lehigh Acres, LaBelle, Clewiston, the Gateway community, Alva, East Fort Myers, Buckingham and all points in between. It will include 24 private patient care suites, bereavement counseling offices, a chapel, and community rooms for education.
“We are heartened by the community’s ongoing support of this important project,” said Hope President and CEO Samira K. Beckwith. “We really look forward to opening the house next year and welcoming everyone in need of our special care.”
