House lost to fire in Lehigh Acres

Lehigh Acres firefighers were called to a house fire at 1712 Cortez Ave. on Sunday at 5 p.m. Arrival was 5:04 p.m., according to Patrick Comer, a spokesman with the fire department.
Comer said it was a vacant house and was fully engulfed in flames when first units arrived. Firefighters report that the front door was unlocked and that the back sliding doors were open upon arrival.
Fire Marshal Ken Bennett was called to investigate and he in turn called for the State Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate. The house is considered a total loss.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
