Dr. Kathleen Shimp has joined Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida. She practices obstetrics and gynecology at the Fort Myers office at 9021 Park Royal Drive and the Lehigh Acres OB/GYN office at 3507 Lee Blvd and she is accepting new patients.

Shimp received her doctor of medicine degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville and served her residency at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

Prior to joining PPC, Shimp was a staff physician with OB/GYN Specialists of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach.

She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Medical Women’s Association and the American Medical Association.

In her spare time, Shimp enjoys all water sports, especially swimming, boating, fishing and Scuba diving. She also is an avid fan of the Florida Gators.

Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida, a physician-owned and operated medical practice, was formed in 1996 by many long practicing local physicians and has grown to become the largest independent multi-specialty practice in Southwest Florida with more than 45 physicians and medical professionals.

Medical specialties include internal medicine, family practice, obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics. Nine offices are located in Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres.
