Prep Report: Panthers stuff Tritons 10-6

By Staff | Apr 21, 2009

The top two teams in the LCAC’s West zone traded blows Monday night, but it was Cypress Lake that delivered the knockout punch with a 10-6 victory over Mariner.

Both teams scored five times in the first inning, but Panthers pitcher Jay Murray settled down and allowed just one run the rest of the way while striking out 12 to seal the win.

The Tritons were led by Angel Laborde (3-for-4), Daniel Alimonti (2-for-4) and Ryan Schneider (2-for-4).

The Tritons (20-4) host Riverdale Wednesday night in the LCAC crossover game for third place while the Panthers host Estero in the first-place game.
