‘Free’ government money and incorporation
To the Editor,
The Sheriff of Lee County has wisely refused to accept free stimulus money for new deputies because the money “will run out” in a couple years. The very same thing can be said for all the various projects around the area funded by “free” stimulus money.
Those monies too “will run out.”
Apparently, a great deal of that free stimulus money is coming to Lehigh though I am quite sure that stipulations may be placed on the free money whereas it may not be available unless Lehigh becomes a city.
In Lehigh the stimulus money will be used to fund mortgages, assist in paying utility bills, provide more welfare money, food stamps, aid for dependant children and of course a kazillion dollars will be going to our precious educators. This is going to stimulate nothing but more debt.
Crime in Lehigh is not going to go away it is going to get worse. In answer to the crime problem the county is going to continue turning its pockets inside-out and do, nothing. That is part of “the plan..
The new rental ordinance is mainly comprised of civil issues and criminally it is unnecessary as there is already county language to cover the subject.
Shortly, we will be regularly inundated by the media that the only solution to crime in Lehigh is to incorporate whereas we can then hire all the coppers we want.
As I have written in the past, they “have plans” for Lehigh. But they also have a problem, they need to have Lehigh Acres agree to pay for it all. Hence, “the plan.”
Once we become a government-agency corporation we will have then formally agreed to pay the bills. They will furnish the strings and we will tie the knot.
