Bring food for Harry Chapin food Bank and get free breakfast

By Staff | Apr 27, 2009

A free breakfast consisting of eggs, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy will be offered to customers of the Fowler Street Grill and Catering Company, 3570 Fowler Street, Fort Myers, on Tuesday, May 5. The only requirement for the free breakfast, offered between 8 and 11 a.m., is that each customer provides a donation to the Harry Chapin Food Bank, either in cash or canned goods.

Free food outlets in Lehigh get much of their food from the Harry Chapin Food Bank, incluing the food kitchen at Christ United Methodist Church which operates “Our Daily Bread,” a hot mid-day meal three times a week.

This is the inaugural food drive to assist the Harry Chapin Food Bank, which provides assistance to its 167 participating agencies in Southwest Florida. The Fowler Street Grill asks customers to join in these tough times of great need-and have a great breakfast at the same time.

Information about the free breakfast and/or how to provide additional assistance may be obtained by calling Dan at 239-910-0596.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank solicits, collects and stores quality food for distribution to needy people through a network of local nonprofit agencies in Southwest Florida that serve more than 20,000 people monthly. The Harry Chapin Food Bank distributes more than 4.25 million pounds of food and other grocery products, valued at more than $7 million, per year.
